The OS-306 series handheld digital IR thermometer is used for non-contact temperature measurement of metals, ceramics, graphite, etc. in temperature ranges between -50°C and 700°C. This portable battery powered unit has a 12:1 field of view, displays current temperature as well as minimum, maximum, average and differential temperatures.
Other features include a backlit LCD display, adjustable emissivity, alarm settings and a single laser dot to help locate the target.

How is Temperature Measured?

What are Infrared Temperature Sensors?
An infrared thermometer is a sensor that consists of a lens to focus the infrared (IR) energy on to a detector, which converts the energy to an electrical signal that can be displayed in units of temperature after being compensated for ambient temperature variation. This configuration facilitates temperature measurement from a distance without contact with the object to be measured (non-contact temperature measurement).
