These versatile liquid crystal mylar sheets LCS with adhesive backs can easily be cut to any size. With a fast response time, these temperature-indicating sheets provide a quick visual readout in laboratory, testing and evaluation applications. Sheets are available in 31 x 31 cm size or as a kit consisting of six 15 x 31 cm sheets, approximately 0.25 mm thick.

A sample pack LCS-KIT, including six 15 x 31 cm sheets, one from each temperature range, is also available. (see features "one from each temp range" in the configurator above)

Temperature indication:

BROWN - Just below rating
GREEN - At rated temperature
BLUE - Just above rating
BLACK - Otherwise

How is Temperature Measured?

Temperature can be measured via a diverse array of sensors. All of them infer temperature by sensing some change in a physical characteristic. Six types with which the engineer is likely to come into contact are: thermocouples, resistive temperature devices (RTDs Pt100 and thermistors), infrared radiators, bimetallic devices, liquid expansion devices, and change-of-state devices.
